Obituary of Anthony Cacciabeve
Anthony Cacciabeve, 66, of Boonton Township, NJ, went home to his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2024, after courageously living as a quadriplegic for thirty three years.
Born in Denville, NJ on December 1, 1957, he grew up in Boonton and graduated Boonton High School in 1976 where he met the love of his life, Anne Marie O’Rourke. They married shortly after their college years and made a home in Boonton Township where they raised their two girls, Colleen and Laura. Anthony was a loving and devoted father and he supported all they chose to pursue.
Anthony enjoyed a career in real estate spanning over thirty years. During those years, he met so many wonderful people that his mentors and coworkers became some of his most treasured friends.
Anthony delighted in simple pleasures: basking in the sunshine, taking vacations, attending his daughters’, nieces’ and nephews’ sporting events, listening to his generation’s best music, and dining out with friends and family. He was a loyal NY Yankees fan and a long-suffering NY Jets fan. But Anthony’s greatest joy was being “Papa” to his grandchildren, June, Alice and Hugh. Spending time with them made his heart full.
Anthony is predeceased by his loving parents Samuel and Ida (DiCarlo) Cacciabeve and his beloved brother James Cacciabeve. He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie; daughters, Colleen (Bill) McGeehin and Laura (John) Rioux; his cherished grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Barbara O’Rourke; sister-in-law, Nancy Cacciabeve; brother, Thomas (Laurie) Cacciabeve; sister-in-law, Barbara (Mike) Brownell; sister-in-law, Patti O’Rourke; brother-in-law, Mike (Elisa) O’Rourke; his wonderful nieces and nephews, Maureen (Scott), Jimmy (Noelle), David (Rosalia), Thomas (Kristen), Daniel (Sara), Kimberly (Tom), Mike (Monica), Chris (Natalie), Kevin (Shari), and Madelyn; his aide and friend, Zoraya Forero; and by his many cousins, great nieces and nephews and extended family and great friends.
He will be remembered for his great work ethic, his relentless positivity and his sense of humor, despite his many obstacles. Anthony’s last request was for his “three girls” to live joyful lives! His presence will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations (www.inmemof.org) can be made to Boonton Kiwanis or P.G. Chambers School in Cedar Knolls.
