I was very sad to learn of the passing of Wendy; she and I sang together in the choir and I always found her to be a caring and talented individual. She touched the lives of many through her ministries, and amde the world a better p;place by just being in it. My sincerest condolences to her friends and family.

Reverend Wendy Spector blessed the lives of her chaplain colleagues and the people she so compassionately served. It was a privilege to attend services she led. They were well prepared and thoughtful. Wendy's love of the Lord strengthened all of us in our own journey of faith. I was blessed by her steadfast ministry. Sister Mary Ellen SSM

This is hard to write without feeling the pain and loss of such an Incredible Women who I feel for me, has came into my life to truly show me what a kind, Unconditional, nurturing Mother is and does. She came into my life by the grace of her daughter Ardra, at a time I needed it most, experiencing the loss of a mothers love and compassion and rejection; As if an Angel fell from heaven. She was there.
I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for her and her daughter's love and compassion, who opened up her heart & home to me. I guess she knew it would be a safe place for me and exactly what I needed at that time whether she was aware of it or not.
Wendy was always there for me, so kind, nurturing and supportive. She supported me emotionally, providing a safe home with her, her sons and husband.
I feel SO incredibly Blessed and eternally grateful for Wendy, (and her family) more than words can describe. I didn't get a chance to tell her in her living hours before she transitioned but I can write it here now, in honor of her memory and loved ones, how much I truly and will forever cherish her.
Thank you Wendy, from the bottom of my heart, I truly cherish you.
I cannot thank you enough.
May you rejoice in Peace as you continue to do your work from above and within all the hearts of those you touched in this lifetime and more...
With Love always,
Melanie

Wendy, Mike and I lived on the same floor in a E. 12th Street building in the East Village until they moved to E. 3rd Street. However, I would walk down Ave. B to often see them. We spent lots of time together back in those days - the late 60s through the early 70s - demonstrating against the war in Vietnam, dining together, listening to music. I was proud to have been the best man at their wedding. Once they moved to New Jersey, I didn't see them quite as often, but I always heard how Wendy was doing, surprised when she became a minister, proud of her working with those dying and found her to have incredible diverse interests.
I will always miss Wendy, but will always remember our time together through so many years.

I loved spending time with Wendy in our ministry journeys, at the Rockaway church, and at Merry Heart Nursing Home. She presided over my wedding, encouraged me in my ordination, and helped me through difficult times. Wendy—thank you for your friendship, and for being an angel to many. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Wendy was a fellow chaplain and wonderful friend at Compassionate Care Hospice for many years. She had a deeply lived spiritual core and an ability to tune in and be present with all kinds of people. She was also full of fun and laughter.
Thank you, Wendy, for being a blessing in my life.

Cousin Wendy was a beautiful person. We will miss her smile, laugh and mostly the way she loved and cared for others. She touched so many people in her life and anyone fortunate enough to have known her was truly blessed. One of my fondest memories of Wendy is when she'd bring Aunt Pearl over to have tea with Gwen. I would imagine that there's a wonderful tea party going on right now in heaven! All our love and prayers to the Spector family.

My deepest condolences to the entire Spector family. Mrs. Wendy Spector was a lovely kind woman who lived her life to the fullest. I only had the opportunity to meet her towards the end of her life journey but I am grateful for that. A part of her lives on in her 3 children which she raised to be wonderful people. -Debra Larson
