Ode to Sal,
Always a Gentleman, always a smile, forever in our hearts.
He will be missed at our Family Gatherings, which were and are many. The O'Brien-Simone Clans. He was very unique, his age, and life observations made him the Sage of the Family. He had the most memories and history. He was by far the most musically talented member. Most of all he was a loving , honest, upright, loyal man devoted to his family and friends. He possessed a great sense of humor, he loved a good joke.
As sad as his passing is, Sal himself was ready to meet his maker if we were not. He always seemed to over come his physical challenges and I, as most of the family, thought he would come through his last battle. God was the winner this time. We can't really fault that. God was kind to have loaned Sal to us for over 91 years. I bet God wanted Sal's music in heaven, and maybe wife Jo said it was time for him to join her again.
Sal, you will live on in the hearts of your daughters, your grandsons, who greatly resemble you, all the rest of your family and friends.
May God hold you in the Palm of his hands till we meet again.

Sal you always treated me klindly, as I've no doubt you treated everybody else that you knew. They don't make them like you anymore, people of the greatest generation like yourself. I know you had had enough after your falls and just wanted to sleep. Now you are at rest and at peace with the Lord.

Even though we only met a short time ago, Sal made a great impression on me. I really loved his piano playing. Simply said, he was just a good person that made others smile. He will be missed.

Mr. Simone was always a kind and gentle man. I remember him since I was a little girl living right next door. What wonderful neighbors both him, his wife and children.

Sal always made me feel at home with his family. I loved to hear him play the piano at the nursing home and I enjoyed his sense of humor too. He was a fine gentlemen who raised a loving caring family.

Michele, Kevin and family,
Sal was someone special and he will always be in our hearts. The times he walked your boys to or from the bus stop when they were in elementary school and the time he graced us by giving our newly acquired piano a workout and just speaking with him at your house all hold special memories.
Because of you a special person touched our lives and we are grateful for that.
