Obituary of Joyce E. Hanson

Joyce E. Hanson (Crane) passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Township, NJ on Saturday February 21, 2015.
She was 85 years old.
Born in Newfoundland she had lived in Rockaway Township, NJ for most of her life.
Joyce attended and graduated Nursing School at Orange Memorial Hospital and then worked for many years as a registered nurse. She enjoyed reading and sewing, and she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Bloomingdale and Rockaway United Methodist Church. She took her oath as a nurse very seriously and always cared for others, constantly placing others before herself. One of her joys later in life was being able to care her nephew Connor.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Hanson in 1957, as well as her brothers Gerald and Wesley Crane.
Joyce is survived by her beloved son Richard A. Hanson of Rockaway, and her sisters Connie Schell of North Haledon, NJ, Linda Bender of Plano, TX, her Brother Leon Crane of Albuquerque, NM, sister in-law Barbara Tillyer of Rockaway, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9am on Friday February 27, 2015, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, and then going to the United Methodist Church of Rockaway, NJ for a 10AM funeral service. Interment will follow at Marcella Union Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Eleventh Hour Rescue, or to Hospice of NJ.
