Obituary of Joseph F. Dunn

Joseph F. Dunn, 90, of Pompton Plains passed away January 26, 2015 after a long illness. A memorial service will be held in the next few weeks. Born in Cohasset, Massachusetts he lived there until entering St. Lawrence College. His college years were interrupted by World War II when he served as a Naval Officer in the Pacific theatre. After the war he finished his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University. He also earned a master's degree in psychology from New York University. He spent his entire 41 year business career at Prudential Insurance Company, Newark, becoming a Senior Vice President. He lived in Tokyo, Japan for several years where he led Prudential's first international operation. After retiring he served as a consultant, managing Prudential's office in Milan, Italy for three years. He was a long time resident of Denville, N.J .and also resided in Millington, N.J. before moving to Cedar Crest retirement community in Pompton Plains. He is survived by his wife Marjorie; children Karen of Alpine California, Joseph, Jr. of West Caldwell; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
