Pauline Augusta (Nimsgern) Schoner was born June 23, 1916 at home in Newark NJ. She passed away January 16 2015 comfortably at Sunrise House of Randolph. Raised in Newark, her father Harry Nimsgern was an Engineer for the City of Newark. Her mother Margaret Lenihan was an educator. She is known for her winning smile, being calm, serene, laughter and the love of family and friends. Being with family was the love of her life. Pauline was married to Robert Schoner in 1939. They moved from Newark to Denville in 1940. Pauline is pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years in 2003. Together they traveled to Europe, Hawaii and most of North America. Summers were spent at Indian Lake and the Jersey Shore. She is pre-deceased by her sister Harriet and her husband Ed of Phoenix and Mary and Bob Kirsch of Clifton. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Vayda and her husband Tom of Randolph, Robert and his partner Norma of Florida, David of Morristown and James and his wife Lynn of Rockaway. Pauline enjoyed the adoration of 6 grand children: Scott, Michelle, Davina, Carly ( & her Fiance Kasey), Jessica and Eric (& his significant other Stephanie). A grand daughter in-law Susan. Three grandsons in-law Douglas, Peter and Tom. Pauline has 8 great-grandchildren, Zackery, Richard, Travis, Maria, Reina, Ryan and Mila. Pauline has one great-great grandchild, Levi. She is survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pauline enjoyed a life-long passion for family gatherings, nutrition and exercise. She swam daily at the Lakeland Hills YMCA for over 35 years as a proud member of the early morning "swimmin women" until the age of 92. Her quiet dedication to physical fitness was an inspiration to many. In 1934, she received a citation for perfect high school attendance at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Newark. As demonstrated by her perfect high school attendance, she embraced life with the same commitment to good health and perfect attendance for 98 years. She was a member of the Indian lake Community Club, Republican Club, Board of Elections and St Mary's Catholic Church. The family has asked donations be sent to the Denville Rescue Squad. Services will be private.
