Julian "Bob" Reid, 78
Julian Reid passed away on Saturday, December 6th at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He is joyfully reunited with his wife Carlene in Heaven.
Bob lived in Rockaway Township for over 50 years. He was born in Lynchburg, VA. to Julian & Marjorie (Walter) Reid on March 12th, 1936 and raised in Canton, PA. He graduated from Canton High School in 1953 where he played football, baseball and basketball. After his high school graduation, he proudly served in the US Navy. He attended Penn State University and graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College.
He worked for Warner Lambert, Morris Plains as a production supervisor for many years and later retired from BioCraft Labs in Elmwood Park .
He was a member of United Methodist Church of the Rockaways where he served on the treasury committee and ran the annual flea market and spaghetti dinners with his wife for many years. He vacationed in Cape May for over 40 years with his family. Time well spent, and certainly some of his favorite.
Predeceased by his wife Carlene and his sister Janice Haggerty; he is survived by his daughters Julie Stilwell (Bill), Jill Fernanders (Carlton), and his son Bart Reid; his grandchildren Allison, Lauren, Brandon, Kirsten, Evan, Stephen, Shane, Tanner, Karlee and Kaitlynn; his sisters Leona Ballard & Doris McClure of Troy, PA, and many more nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Dean Home For Services. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 15th at 10 am at the United Methodist Church of Rockaway, 1 Hoagland Ave, Rockaway, NJ 07866. Interment to follow at Marcella Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to www.autismspeaks.org
