Obituary of Jennie DeVito

Jennie DeVito, 83, passed away on Friday, November 21st following a brief illness. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 26th at 11 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave. Denville. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the good work of the American Heart Association or the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at MMC. Jennie was born in Brooklyn to the late Anthony and Josephine Ruggiero. After her schooling she met and later married Louis DeVito and the couple settled in Garfield, then to Lake Hiawatha where they raised their family. Jennie was an exceptional mother and homemaker; a fabulous cook, crocheter and crafter. She was always making something beautiful for someone. Most recently, she has lived in Rockaway, where she made wonderful friends and memories. Predeceased by her husband Louis (1998) and her brothers Louis and Sonny; she is survived by her loving children Linda DeVito (Leonor Gonzalez, Diane Caglianone (Michael) and Michael DeVito (Linda Hogan); grandsons Michael and Matthew (Jackie) Caglianone; two great grandchildren; brothers Joseph and Anthony Ruggiero; dear sisters Fanny Provenza and Lucille Nardiello ; and many more loving relatives and friends.
