I work in the St. Francis kitchen as a waitress. I remember my first day on the job when I met this soft spoken, kind hearted, sweetest man named Ed. Ed was a man of few words but I loved him right off the bat. Every morning, Ed would wait outside on the bench twirling his cane and was the first one in the dining room! He would always ask for his usual "1 poached egg, 1 bacon, and 1 whole wheat toast" I was deeply saddened when I heard that Ed passed away. I had been on per diem for my new job and college and was unable to hear of his passing sooner :( I loved Ed. His kind heart impacted me greatly and he will never be forgotten.

I remember Ed from the Community Garden of Denville. He had a garden next to mine in the early 1990's. Helpful with gardening tips. Always had a beautiful garden. Pleasant , soft spoken and generous. A pleasure to talk to . Always in search of a better way to get rid of potatoe beetles.
