Susan L. Maute (Lundy) passed away at Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE on August 29, 2014.
She was 48 years old.
Born in Denville, she grew up in Montville and had lived in Mt. Lakes, NJ for the last 13 years.
Susan received her Bachelor's degree from the University of CT and her Master's degree from Stephen's Institute in Hoboken, NJ.
She was an avid athlete and enjoyed tennis and volleyball as well as coaching and playing lacrosse. After receiving an athletic scholarship to UConn, she played on the 1985 women's field hockey NCAA championship team.
Susan worked at Bell Labs as a business software developer for 11 years before retiring to raise her family. She later became certified as a massage therapist.
She was predeceased by her brother Michael Kelly Lundy in 1998.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Kurt Maute and her loving children Megan, Emily, Bryan and Paige Maute. Her parents William and Hilda Lundy as well as her siblings Marion Hansberry, Debra Lundy-Marston, William, James and Paul Lundy, and many nieces and nephews.
Susan lived a full, fun, active life and would like people to celebrate her memory rather than focus on her disease, pink ribbons or anything associated with it.
A liturgy of Christian Burial Mass will be held at St. Pius Church in Montville, NJ on Wednesday September 3, 2014, at 10AM. Friends may visit at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
