I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Ranft's passing. Denville Vaccum was the best example of a storefront business that provided wonderful and friendly service whenever I needed an electric razor repaired. I enjoyed looking at the classic records in the store. I will miss Mr. Ranft and his wonderful store.

My condolences to the Ranft Family
I grew up in Denville on Riverside Dr and we as kids would go up town all the time and in the families store and at that time to buy Albums. He was a great guy - very friendly and caring. Sincerely Tricia Winstead

So sorry for your loss. Bob was my baseball coach and I had the honor to hire him to work at Morris Catholic. I had many great store visits with both your father and mother who always had time to talk. Losing them is a great loss for you and the community. They touched and inspired so many. I missed your mother opening the store and now I will miss your father closing it. The extended Ranft family is in my prayers and thank you for sharing your father with us all.

Very sorry to hear the news. I bowled with Bob for the last 15 years. We were one of the few original boonton Sportsman left in the league. I loved hearing stories about his grandchildren while he enjoyed listening to to me talk about my twin girls. Bob helped keep a couple of my vacuums going longer than they should! I feel lucky to have gotten to know Bob, he will be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mr. Ranft’s passing. He was more than my coach. He was a mentor and a good friend. Mr. Ranft was one of the kindest and most generous men that I’ve ever known. I moved away from Denville in 1987 and yet visited his store every time that I returned over the years...just to see his smiling face and to reminisce. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Please know that Mr. Ranft was far more than a coach to many of us. He was a Denville institution.

I will always remember Mr Ranft for his big smile, easy going manner, and his father-like presence for the young men he coached. I can't believe he lived for as long as he did given all the anxiety we must have caused him on the Morris Catholic baseball team. I have many fond memories and teaching lessons from Mr Ranft that have stayed with me and that I try to instill in my children. He always loved an underdog and gave a chance to the undersized kids on the team. He will be greatly missed and I know there is a special place for him as a coach and parent in heaven.

We have only great memories of Bob , either at the store, in town, Denville Baseball and at all of the many organizations the Bob Ranft was a part of.
Our town is rich in his memories of service, but we are poorer in his passing, as we probably will never witness another so selfless, caring and dedicated to family and community. God speed Bob, and Thank You.

Bob is Mr. Denville! He always had a smile, a kind word, great advice, loved this town, believed in giving back to the community all he could. My main interaction with him was the annual holiday parade and the recent Centennial. We exchanged common interests like music, electronics. He told me when St.Clares was built, he was the guy installing TVs and putting up antennas in the early days of the hospital. We would both laugh at how many things evolved over the past 40 years! That's what made him special, as he could relate to almost everyone! Denville has lost a legend but his legacy will live on. Every kid that plays ball at Gardner Field will have a Guardian Angel watching every game. Rest in Peace Bob, you won't be forgotten!
