Obituary of Peter A. Lyden

Peter A. Lyden passed away at his home in Denville, NJ on November 5, 2019,

at the age of 63.

Born in Jersey City Peter had lived his entire life in the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ.

Peter was a licensed plumber and owned & operated AAPAL Plumbing and Heating for over 10 years before going to work in the Water Department for the Township of Denville with his best bud Bryan Flynn for 24 and half years before retiring in 2017.

He was very active in the town of Denville, coaching the Blue Knights and the Crusaders hockey teams as well as soccer and softball.  Peter was also very active with the Indian Lake Community Club.  He loved boating and water skiing on both Indian Lake and Lake George, NY.  Other passions he had were hunting, fishing and playing golf.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter J. Lyden in 1990 and Eileen V. (Hannigan) Lyden in 2006, and his brother Keith J. Lyden in 2010.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 42 Years  Donna M. (Balbo) Lyden of Denville, NJ.  He is also survived by his loving Children Monica and her husband Eric Roman of Rockaway Twp., Renee Lyden and  Tim VanOudenaren of Viera, FL, Dayna and her husband James Lane of Wayne, and Peter and his wife Dana Lyden of Jefferson, NJ.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Leah-Marie, Lyla, Ronald, Jenna, Roxanne, Luke, and Harper, who lovingly called him “Poppie” his siblings Denise and her husband Bill Provost of Denville, Beverly and her husband John Schreck of Denville, his sister in-law Stephanie Lyden of Denville and his father in-law Henry G. Balbo of Mt. Arlington along with many extended family and dear friends who were like family to him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday November 7, 2019, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 7:00PM – 9:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.  A Funeral service will take place at 8:00PM Thursday evening during the visitation at the funeral home.
