Obituary of David Pierce Feith
"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."
David Pierce Feith has left this world a better place. He has dazzled foodies and wine enthusiasts and pleased many palates. We’ve been truly blessed to have him for 48 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, Mountain Lakes. Interment to follow at Denville Cemetery. His family will cherish them forever.
David was born on July 19, 1971, to Carol and Stephen Feith. At that time, Dad was stationed in Oslo Norway, so Carol returned to the states a few years later with three little ones in tow. He attended Denville schools, graduating Knolls in 1989. He went on to the State University of New York at New Paltz earning his BA in Liberal Arts. He also studied at the Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute. He headed to New Orleans where he settled in easily and started making his mark. He scored a quaint apartment in the French Quarter, started working at the restaurant he always wanted to and acted in many roles. He continued in theatre and wrote his own screen play. A few years later he moved to NY City where he worked at Capital Grille, Del Frisco’s and Tao to name a few. All of this helped him on his path to achieve the coveted rank of Sommelier. Food & Wine were certainly his jam. In 2010, David headed back to NOLA, where he worked hard. He worked with Susan Spicer at her restaurant Bayona, the Windsor Court and Meril, an Emeril Lagasse restaurant.
He truly was a GREAT friend and had so many himself. Lately he has been writing as book and we can’t wait to read what he has to share with the world. Above all of his passions, his family was tops. He spent hours as Mom’s sous chef during holidays and birthdays. He loved his brother and was the other half to his twin sister. His nieces and nephew, well, he adored them and was so very proud of them all. Lovingly referred to as Unca and Grover, the kids could always count on David for a smile. Although we are broken hearted by his sudden passing, we know for sure David enjoyed the good life and showed so many others how to do the same. Always follow your dreams, and find your passions.
He leaves only beautiful memories to his mother Carol Pierce – Feith, his brother Stephen (Beth); his adoring twin sister Deidre Jensen (Jim); his Maternal Grandmother Winifred Pierce; his beloved Uncle David Pierce; his nieces and nephew Laurel and Ryan Feith and Ryleigh and Jamie Jensen; his cousins, Winifred Kelly, Msgr. Joseph Reilly, Jim Reilly (Paula), Ed Reilly (Eileen), and Tom Reilly; his loyal felines Charlie Chaplain and Bette Davis; and many dear friends and foodies and theatre enthusiasts. His Dad Stephen John Feith Jr.; his Grandfathers, David Pierce and Stephen Feith, Sr., and his Aunt Cynthia Lattig passed previously.
