Obituary of Richard Guglielmo

Richard Guglielmo passed suddenly on October 18, 2019 in Austria.  He shared 73 years of love and laughter with his family and friends.  Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, October 30^th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  A Service of Remembrance will begin at 7:30 that evening.  Donations in his name may be made to the good work of Paws and Stripes.  Please share your memories here.  His family will cherish them forever. 

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Orlando and Teresa Guglielmo, he was one of two boys to bless the Guglielmo household. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School. Richard proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. During his years of service he was stationed in Rota, Spain for 18 months. He raised his family in Breezy Point, NY before relocating to Parsippany in the early 80’s. He began his lifelong career in computer technology working at RCA, IBM, and STC, prior to becoming the co-founder of AMCOR Inc., in Fairfield, NJ 35 years ago. Richard’s dedication and hard work continued throughout his life.

In his later years he was fortunate to split his time between Naples, Fl and Salzburg, Austria.  He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, eating good food with good company, traveling, his daily walks, and CHOCOLATE. He was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren and grand pups.   

He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Vessi; his children, Janet Bailey and Craig Eccleston of Warwick, NY, Richard Guglielmo and his wife Carrie of Parsippany, NJ and Diane Schmalzle and her husband Jeremy of San Carlos, CA, and their mother, Loretta Guglielmo; and his cherished grandchildren, Sarah, James, Rocco, Connor, Julia, and Eryn.
