Obituary of Raymond Kenneth Reisen
Raymond “Ken” Reisen passed away in Micco, FL after a brief illness on June 12, 2019, at the age of 80.
Born in Jersey City he had lived in Denville and Rockaway, NJ for most of his life before moving to Camden, DE. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1964. He retired from Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company where he worked for many years. He was Emeritus Commander of the American Legion Post No. 175 in Rockaway, NJ, a member of the VFW and the Sebastian, FL Moose Club.
In his younger years he was part of the underwater search and rescue team. Ken was an accomplished bowler, loved fishing and enjoyed a good game of bingo. On a Sunday afternoon he could be found rooting for his favorite sports team the NY Giants. He was a charismatic, fun loving and happy person. He was a good man who enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife of 23 years Joan Marie (Protus) Reisen and his parents Raymond Henry Reisen and Anna Sickinger-Reisen.
He is survived by his beloved companion of fifteen years, Nancy Holland. His children Raymond M. (Andrea) of Southport NC, Donna of Bolivia NC, Keith (Kimberly) of Manhattan NY and Michael (Joanne-Saccone) of Georgetown TX, Robin (Peter) Odom of Andover NJ and Cheryl (Frank) Cannavale of Essex Fells NJ. He is also survived by sisters Joanne (Jim) Ciampi of Virginia Beach, VA and Joycelyn Reisen of Micco, FL.
Survived also by his grandchildren Alexa, Raymond Jr., Brandon, Gianna, Jayce, Shaun and Rebecca Reisen; Meghan (Jack) Granger, Matt Odom and great-grandchild Evelyn. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2019, from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at 9:00AM at the funeral home and then going to St. Mary’s Church in Denville for a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Mass. Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Mausoleum in Dover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project by way of inmemof.org.
