Obituary of Michael Pasquale Lettera
Michael P. Lettera, of Rockaway Township, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, May 19, 2019. He shared 88 years of love and love of good meals with his family.
Mike was born in Harlem in 1930 and was one of four children to bless the family. After his schooling he served our country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After a whirlwind romance he married his sweetheart Rose DiMarco on a beautiful day in April of 1951. They settled in Paramus, NJ where they raised four children. He worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He was the owner of West Side Neon in the Bronx until his retirement.
In 2001 after many happy years and wonderful memories in their home, they moved to Fox Hills in Rockaway Township where they formed new friendships and enjoyed many activities.
Michael loved to travel. He and Rose were often jet setting around. They loved their trips to Italy and Atlantic City especially. He loved to go out and dine at old and new restuarants. He was social and enjoyed meeting new people wherever he went. Above everything, Mike loved his family. He adored his wife Rose and took great care of her always. The sun rose and set on his grandchildren and he was so proud of all of them. In recent years, he was crowned Great Grandpa to eight little ones. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is with his dear Rose again and watching over their family with love and pride.
Predeceased by his adored wife Rose of 67 years in June of 2018; he leaves beautiful memories to his children Dominick Lettera and his wife Ruth of Norwalk, CT, Frank Lettera and his wife Katherine of Whitestone, NY, Michele Cestaro and her husband Marc of Denville, and Michael P. Lettera, Jr. and his wife Gail of North Haledon; his grandchildren, Dominick, Jr., Chistopher and his wife Heather, Michael and his wife Gina, Jenifer, Gina, Joseph and his wife Paula, Marc and his wife Kelly, Gabriella, Kayla, Gianna, and Frank; his great-grandchildren, Grace, Drew, Zac, Mateo, Tomás, Reid, Nicolas, and Eli; his dear sister Anna Perrone and many more dear relatives and friends. His sisters Santa Taccetta and Annette Mortillo passed previously.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23rd at 10 am at St. Mary’s RC Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ. Burial will be private.
