Obituary of Patricia Neilan

Patricia Neilan, Loving Mom and Milka

Sheila Patricia Neilan (nee O’Neill) passed peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019.  She shared 70 years of love and faith with her family.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21^st at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Denville.  Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, May 20th from 4-7 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services. Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the Joey Bella Fund, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ 07834.

Patricia was born in County Kerry in 1949 and grew up in Lanesboro, County Longford, Ireland.  She was one of eight children to bless the O’Neill family.  She married Terence Neilan and they raised their family in Denville.  She was a woman of deep faith and instilled this and the values of hard work and family into her children. She worked at St. Ann’s Parish for many years and enjoyed it very much.  Above everything, Patricia loved being with her family.  She was the proud “Milka” to seven little ones.  She loved being a Grandmother and having the kids over often.  She will remain in our hearts forever.

Predeceased by her husband Terence; she leaves beautiful memories to her children Siobhan Hannagan (John), Terence Neilan (Brenda) and Mary Jo Sheahan (Thomas); her adoring grandchildren John, Cate, Liam, James, Shannon, Diego and Kevin; siblings Bernadette Troy, Robert O’Neill, Maura Clark and Daniel O’Neill, and many more loving relatives and friends. Her siblings Gerald, June and John Henry O’Neill passed previously.
