Obituary of Nona M. Tibus
Nona M. Tibus, of Lake Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Regency Grande Nursing Home in Dover. She was 77 years young.
Nona was the true Matriarch of our family. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure everyone was well taken care of, and was definitely the glue that held us all together. She was endearingly nicked named “Ma Tibus” by all of her children’s friends while they were growing up. Nona was the first person to go to when you needed advice or just a friendly ear. A social butterfly, she had the most vibrant personality with a contagious smile. The type of woman that would literally give you the shirt off her back, Nona was an extraordinary woman, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be sorely missed and forever treasured.
Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Mortellite, she leaves only joyful memories to her beloved husband of 56 years, James “Jim” Tibus; her adored children, Tami Delefave of Rockaway, Kara Herbertz and her husband Torsten of Stow, MA, and Christian Tibus and his wife Ivelys of FL; her cherished grandchildren, Dominique, Gabriel, Marlena, Elias, and Olivia; and her sister, Dara Carbone of FL.
Public Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 4th from 5 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, April 5th at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share a special memory of Nona with us.
