Privileged; that is the way I feel having had the chance to call Colleen my friend and colleague. It was my good fortune to be able to start working with her early in her teaching career. She was an in-classroom support for one of her special education students. Her intelligence, dedication, work ethic, and sense of humor were always present. Listening to her talk about her students, her own children, the idea of swimming with whales and even her time spent at Woodstock in her earlier years was always fun since she brought so much passion and wit to her narratives. Colleen will be sorely missed but mostly she will remembered with affection, appreciation, and delight.

After a favorite coffee mug that I had used for years mysteriously disappeared from the teacher’s lounge, Colleen quickly and generously replaced it with one of her own creations — a piece I have treasured ever since.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this sad time. I know that no words can help ease the pain and loss that you are feeling right now. May you find comfort in your precious memories and in the thoughts of those who share your sorrow. May the words of Psalm 55:22 “ Throw your burden upon Jehovah God himself, and he himself will sustain you” bring the entire family comfort and strength. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Colleen was a very special teacher with insight to reach each child through his strengths rather than focusing on his weaknesses. She has touched many lives and will be sorely missed.

I wish to express my condolences for the loss of your dear Miss Flannery. Gone much too soon. Many are mourning with you. The God of heavens shares your loss as well. He provides wonderful hope for the future (John 5:28-29; Psalm 37:11, 29, 39; Revelation 21:3-5). Jesus taught us to pray for that marvelous time at Matthew 6:9-10. Please reach out your heavenly Father for the comfort that you need (2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Psalm 34:18). The link below is to a short video about His plans for your precious Miss Flannery; it is my sincere wish that it will be of great benefit to you as it has been to me over the years: https://www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&prefer=content&applanguage=E&locale=en&item=pub-imv_4_VIDEO&docid=1011214. May the peace of God be with all of you (Philippians 4:6-7).
