Kevin was an amazing person always thinking of others and is there to offer his knowledgeable advise. I’ve known him since 2001, a work relationship turn into a family friendship because that’s the type of person he was. His family, Kim, Ashley and Lindsey was his pride and joy. I remembered how he use to get so excited to take Ashley and Lindsey to concerts, he loved music. It’s heart breaking knowing I won’t be able to ever speak with him again. May the lord grant him a heavenly resting place. You will remain in our hearts and memories forever. My heartfelt condolences to Kim the girls.

Very sorry to learn Kevin had passed. He was a remarkable individual on both a professional and personal level. I marveled at his ability to grasp the nuances of any set of circumstances and to inevitably come up with the right decision among multiple challenging alternatives. I learned something new about the business every time he addressed the staff at Hart Energy.
On the personal side, Kevin was honest, genuine and empathetic. I was called to Houston for a series of meetings as he began to wrestle with how to solve the digital challenge at Hart. During a lunch break, we had a conversation concerning my daughter who had been diagnosed with brain cancer. "What's it like?" was the question that started the conversation. It was an all inclusive question. What was it like as a parent? What was it like as a caretaker? What was it like to go through the experience as the patient? It was a genuine and empathetic discussion.
Ironically, Kevin was diagnosed with pancreatic about nine months later. I wrote him a note wishing the best and we had a phone conversation about it. Then, not so long after, I, too, was diagnosed with cancer at about the same time brain cancer recurred for my daughter. Life was a challenge.
We talked again. Kevin was helpful and insightful on the impacts and side effects of treatment and how to adjust. For those in the Big C Club, a group in which no one wants to be a member, that advice provided helpful perspective on how to deal with the reality of treatment one day at a time, which is actually the best advice someone in the Big C Club can get.
When it became evident my daughter's situation was terminal a few short months later, Kevin participated in a long, thoughtful phone call with our family in regards to a specialized treatment he was doing. It was working in his case and he thought it might work for our daughter. Despite his own challenges undergoing treatment, doctors visits, fatigue, and all the side effects of treatment etc., he went well out of his way to arrange medical introductions for our daughter, which was great solace particularly so for my wife.
Our daughter's condition was universally fatal and she passed not long after. But, I will be forever grateful that he made a superhuman effort even as he was deep in the struggle with his own condition to help our family.
There is nothing I can say that will lessen the burden of grief for the family. I understand that grief, having experienced it in our own family. We found some solace in adapting a characteristic of the departed and incorporating that into our individual lives as a way to keep the memory alive. We celebrate that life, short thought it was, on all special occasions, which provides some comfort on those tough days or nights when the loss still seems overwhelming.
I just want to convey that Kevin was first class, remarkable in his skills, but moreso in his personal warmth and genuine compassion. It's not often those characteristics come together in a single human being, but they did for Kevin.
May he rest in peace, may his memory serve as inspiration, and may time bring eventual solace to his family.

I’ve know Kevin since my days at Chemical Week. (2001) He was always the driving force that pushed everyone to think outside the box and strive for more. He was kind, funny and wickedly smart.
Many years later we were reunited (2014) when he hired me at Hart Energy. I feel privileged to have had him as my mentor and friend for so many years. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. My heartfelt condolences to Kim, Ashely and Lindsey. He is now soaring with the angels.

Kevin was a great friend and colleague. With my years of working with him, his always-excited outlook regarding his wife and daughters was infectious. His love of music always permeated conversations and was a great driver to have a more personal connection. He was always striving to push our company into larger and
more enduring areas. He knew where the industry was heading and was steering us in that direction. He led me to be the businessman and friend I am today. I've known him for almost 11 years since I started with Hart Energy in 2008, and in that time I got to be close with him. He will be dearly missed!

Kevin was one of the most sincere, reliable, smart and true people you could ever hope to meet, often talking of his family, neighbours, and home life.
I remember him playing the juke box at Jim Brady's - with his genuine music knowledge, and also how he somehow made me laugh a lot!
- Such a loss to his former colleagues and friends. Heartfelt condolences to Kim, Ashley and Lindsey.

I’m so glad I got to see Kevin in October during my short visit to the “hood” with Dave and Johnine. Of course we played cards, of course we told jokes and of course we had some spirited debate. Those visits will never quite be the same again without Kevin’s spirit and personality helping fill the room. I’m going to miss you my friend and my thoughts and prayers are with Kim, your family and friends as they try to move forward from this sudden and devastating loss. God bless you all.
