Obituary of George L. Schmidt

George L. Schmidt passed away suddenly at Morristown Medical Center
on December 21, 2018, at the age of 65.
Born in Haverhill, MA, he grew up in Andover, MA and lived in Chatham Twp. NJ where he went to High School before moving to Lake Hopatcong, NJ in1983.
George earned his Bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1981.
He owned and operated MidAtlantic Packaging in Vineland, NJ for 19 years before selling his company in 2009 and then continued to work for the company in sales.
George loved fishing, bike riding, lighthouses, the Sandy Hook and NJ Highlands areas and also the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Catherine L. (Jones) Schmidt
as well as his loving daughter Samantha Schmidt, both of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and his sister Ruth Schmidt of Clearwater, FL.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 28, 2018, from 6-8PM with a service to follow at 8:00PM, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Interment will take place on Saturday December 29, at Flower Hill Cemetery in North Bergen, NJ.
Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Gary Sinise Foundation P.O. Box 368 Woodland Hills, CA 91365.
