Obituary of William D. Schult
William D. Schult, of Rockaway Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit with his loving family by his side. He was 63 years young.
Born and raised in New York to Audrey and the late Donald Schult, William was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School in Dix Hills, NY and University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He made a very successful career for himself as a Marine Insurance Broker working very hard for 40 years. For 30 years, he worked for Marsh Marine & Energy in NY and most recently Aon Corporation in Morristown for the past 10 years. The marine industry has lost a tremendous amount of knowledge and a great person.
Bill was an incredible man with a sense of humor that we all cherished. Music was a part of his soul and that was evident because he was a member of the handbell choir, he played clarinet in church and in several area community bands. He also enjoyed target shooting, gardening, yardwork, traveling, and old cars, especially his 1970 blue and white Chevelle SS. Although Bill was taken too soon from this life, he has left us with a legacy of unconditional love and laughter that will remain in our hearts for an eternity.
He leaves only joyful memories to his treasured daughter, Kimberly Schult, her companion, Javier Vasques and her caring mother, Eileen Schult; his loving brothers, Peter (Monica Whelan) Schult and Eric (Donna) Schult; his cherished fiancé, Sherrie Boatman and her son Cody whom he adored; his dear nieces Krista (Elliott) Jones, Alexa Schult, Haley Schult, Allyson Schult, Ana Schult; and many other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 10 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Green Pond Rd, Rockaway, NJ 07866. Memorial donations are being accepted in Bill’s memory by way of www.inmemof.org to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Overlook Hospital. Please leave a special memory and condolence for his family.
