Obituary of Anne R. Drury
Anne R. Drury, of Denville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Merry Heart Health Care Center in Succasunna. She was 90 years young.
Born and raised in Newark to the late James and Lillian Rowe, she was an only child. She graduated from Newark Catholic High School in the Vailsburg Section. For a short time after High School, she went to work for Prudential Insurance before deciding to go to college in Newark, where she graduated with Medical Assistant Degree. She made a very successful career for herself for over 25 years working for Dr. Walter Lichtenberg as well as Dr. Jeffrey Berdini. Anne married her soulmate, John “Jack” E. Drury in 1952 and together they settled in Westwood to raise their family. Jack and Anne were very active together in both the Knights of Columbus and the Columbiettes. Anne volunteered a lot of her time helping the community with the Columbiettes. A Devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Westwood. After Jack passed and Anne retired, she spent many years living down the shore before settling into Denville to be closer to her family. While in Denville she was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the Denville Senior Citizen Center. Anne was a phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will forever be treasured in our hearts.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Drury and her treasured grandson, Timothy Eck, she leaves only happy memories to her adored children, Mark Drury and his wife Marybeth, Maureen Eck, and Thomas Drury; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sean Drury and his wife Nicole, Samantha Pisciotto and her husband James, Austin Eck and his wife Samantha and their baby Weston, Timothy’s fiancé Nicole Kyler and their baby Weiland, Ryan Eck, Brandon Eck, Alyson Eck, Danielle and John; and many other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 10 am at St. Mary’s RC Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange. Memorial Donations are being accepted to Catholic Charities by way of inmemof.org. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
