Obituary of Loretta Geis

Loretta Geis passed away peacefully at her home in Denville, NJ on September 28, 2018, at the age of 77. Born in Queens, NY, she had lived in the Morris County area since the 1960's, and in Denville, NJ since 1999. Loretta worked as an Executive Director for F.E.I. in Morristown, NJ before retiring in 2000. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Denville where she served as a Eucharistic Minister as well as teaching C.C.D. She was a strong advocate for Autism and people with developmental disabilities. Loretta was a giving person who loved to take cate of people, always putting others before herself. She also loved to do gardening of every kind. She was predeceased by her beloved son Steven R. H. Geis in 2013. Loretta is survived by her loving children Christina and her husband Bruce Meringolo of Stirling, NJ, Jeffrey Geis and his significant other Donna of Fredericksburg, VA and Lori and her husband Philip Scherzer of Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Her grandchildren Ryan, Cody, Hope, Danielle, Matthew and Noah, as well as her siblings Richard DeLuca, Gary and his wife Barbara VanderBrink and Raymond VanderBrink also survive her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2018, from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Services will begin at the funeral home at 9:00AM on Wednesday October 3, and then going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass.
