1931 – 2018
Elizabeth Russo, better known to loved ones as “Betty,” was born in Torrington, Connecticut on June 22, 1931 to Michael and Edith Scholtz. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend.
Betty was happily married for 67 years to her husband, Francis Russo. Her pride was her family, including her son Frank Jr., daughter-in-law Robin, grandchildren Ryan and Casey, many nieces and nephews, and her amazing friends.
Best known for her wonderful cooking skills, love of all games, laughter, kindness and self-sacrifice, Betty died peacefully at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, N.J. on Tuesday, September 18th surrounded by loved ones.
A Mass celebration of Betty’s life will take place on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 10:00 am – St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834. A lunch gathering will take place immediately following the Mass.
In the season of Thanksgiving and in lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name can be made to the Denville Food Pantry by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org
