Rosa M. Chemchick (Humpfer), passed peacefully September 15, 2018, at the age of 89.
Rosa was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Her warm heart and kindness were welcoming to all, she truly was a blessing. She was a wonderful sister, sister in-law and aunt.
Rosa was born in Hausen, Germany to Emma and Frans Humpfer. In her late 20's Rosa moved to the US where she fell in love with Mike Chemchick and later married and settled in Flanders, NJ. Rosa and Mike spent many wonderful years enjoying each other's company and living life to its fullest.
Rosa loved to spend her time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and Mt. Airy with friends. Rosa enjoyed spending time gardening, bowling, mastering puzzles, knitting and going for nice walks.
Rosa joins her beloved husband Mike and her loving sister, Marga. She is survived by her older sister Elfreda Holland of Germany and brother in-law Bill Scielso of Rockaway. She is also survived by her niece Lori Pallay and nephew Bill (Mindi) Scielso all of Rockaway, NJ. She is the loving Great Aunt to Sheena, Talia (Francisco), Joey (Angela), Will and Hayden and Great-Great Aunt to Ava, Michael, and Jonathan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 19th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Norman Dean, 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean on Thursday, September 20th at 10:00a.m., followed by the internment at Locust Hill Cemetery 168 N Sussex St, Dover, NJ 07801.
Memorial donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the Deborah Center by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
