Obituary of James J. Barron

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James J. Barron, better known to family and friends as Jim, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 with his family by his side at home in Rockaway, NJ.  Jim left this world a better place.

Jim was born to James and Bridget Barron (Manning) in Bay Ridge, NY.  He eventually moved to East Windsor, NJ where he raised a beautiful family of his own. Jim worked for New York Life Insurance Company in both New York City and Parsippany, NJ for 44 years before retiring.  He was always a hard worker and great provider for his family. In 1993 he came to Rockaway, NJ.  Jim loved to give back to the community through volunteer work.  He gave his time to Morris County Community College as well as B.O.M.A. “Building Owners Managers Association"; an organization focused on helping individuals with special needs find employment. Jim was a long time member of the 200 club.  In spare time you could find him sitting at his computer or reading a newspaper from front to back page.  He was interested in what was happening in the world and his true passions were family, work and being a smartass to those he loved!  Above all, he was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He leaves many happy memories to his beloved wife of 45 years, Jill Barron (Boccio); loving sons Peter Barron and his wife Marisa and Michael Barron and his wife Melissa; adoring grandchildren Ava, Violet, Mason and Quinn; sister Mary Klein and her husband Bill.

Friends and family may visit on Sunday, August 26 at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville from 12-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 27 at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 90 Church St., Rockaway.  Donations in Jim's memory can be made to the good works of Atlantic Hospice by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.  Please leave a condolence or share a special memory with the family.
