Obituary of John Visicaro

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."

John Visicaro passed peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018.  He shared 84 years of love and faith with his family and friends.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2 at 10:30 am at St. James The Apostle Parish,  Springfield, NJ.  Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.  Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 1st from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.  Donations in his memory may be made to the good work of the ADAA by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.

John was born in Newark to the late Ignazio and Grazielle Visicaro. He was the tenth boy to bless this family, only to be followed by a baby girl.  After his schooling he met Marietta Cicalese.  A whirlwind romance began and the couple married and settled in Newark to start a family of their own.  He provided a great life for his wife and three children, working hard as a carpenter with Local 68.  He was a longtime parishioner at St. Joe’s in Maplewood and was active with the Knights Of Columbus for many years.

John was a true family man.  He adored his wife and cherished his children and extended family.  He was a proud Italian American and instilled traditions and culture always.  He and Marietta were fortunate to travel to Italy for their 50th wedding anniversary.  He loved this time and almost didn’t return.  Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is watching over this family with love and is reunited with his dear “Chicky” & “John John”.

Predeceased by his adored wife Marietta and his beloved son John; he leaves a lifetime of happy memories to his daughters Nancy Lo Brace (Frank) and Grace Smith (Paul); his grandchildren Daniel, Jenna, Julia, Cristina and Talia; and many more dear relatives and friends.
