Obituary of Peter E. Davis
Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter E. Davis passed away at Morristown Medical Center on July 24, 2018, at the age of 72.
Born in Teaneck in 1946, to Edward O. Davis and wife Audrey (Frapaul) Davis, Peter grew up in Oradell. He then lived in Montville for 22 years, before moving to the Indian Lake section of Denville, 16 years ago.
Peter graduated from the United States Air Force Academy as a member of the Class of '68 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Meanwhile, he achieved his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State. Peter then dedicated his lifelong career to the family business (Frapaul Construction Co. of Rochelle Park and Lincoln Park) and to the New Jersey construction industry. He served as President of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of New Jersey, and a Trustee and Chairman of the Construction Industry Advancement Program (CIAP) of New Jersey. He retired as President of Frapaul Construction Co. in 1999. Peter was a dedicated bridge player and member of the Essex Bridge Center in Livingston. He was also an avid reader and history buff, and loved to spend time with his Air Force buddies from Cadet Squadron 21, the "Blackjack Squadron." But most of all, he loved being with his family.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Eva (Jedruch) Davis of Denville. He is also survived by their loving sons Jeffrey Davis of Denville; and Michael and his wife Michelle Davis and their children Molly and Mason Davis of Chatham; and his son Christopher Christianson and his wife Paulie Skaja and his children Elika, Bryn, Capra, and Jaiden of Minnesota. Also surviving him are his siblings Dene and her husband James Ryan of Essex Fells; and Christopher and his wife Stacie Davis of Spring Lake; and many wonderful nieces & nephews.
