Obituary of Lawrence Robert Rooney

Lawrence “Larry” Robert Rooney, of Rockaway Township, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was 71 years old.

Born in Orange to the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Rooney, he was one of three children. Lawrence was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and crabbing, especially on the Jersey shore. He loved to take cruises with his adored wife, Karen. Lawrence was an avid reader, and the ultimate Giants and Yankees fan. Above anything else, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Lawrence will be sorely missed.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Karen in 2012, he leaves happy memories to his loving children, Lynn Marino and her husband Steve and Mark Rooney; his cherished grandchildren, Shane and Ryan Marino; his caring sister, Joan (the late Hugh) Gardner; and brother, Thomas Rooney.
