“Where this is darkness, there once was light…”

Raymond O. Giessler, passed away on April 22, 2018.  He shared 42 years of love and generosity with all who knew him.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 10:30 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville.  Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday May 2nd from 4-8 pm.  Donations in his memory may be made to the good work of 11th Hour Rescue by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Ray was born in 1975 to Juergen and Eveline Giessler and was the 4th child to bless their family.  After graduating from Boonton High in 1995, he worked as a roofer and then joined in the family business, Firefreeze Worldwide.  He always wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and make him proud.  Ray excelled at his work.  He was innovative and creative…his mind was bright.  When he wasn’t working; Ray could be found at home tinkering with his “toys”.  He loved his trucks and cars and spent countless hours on his 4 trax and quad.  He cheered on his Red Sox and his Raiders and was rarely seen without his Syracuse hat on. Ray was a jokester.  When he saw an opportunity to deliver a practical joke, he took it.  Ray was an animal lover and truly had the biggest heart.  Not everything was perfect though.  He could be quite stubborn and deliberate and was often too proud to ask for help.  But, he was our Ray. And although we are broken hearted, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and watching over us all.

Predeceased by his father Juergen and his brother Eric; he leaves a lifetime of laughs and memories to his mother Eveline; his sisters Stephanie Monrad (Jan Michael) and Tanya Giessler Quayle (Christopher Quayle); his nieces Emilia and Tessa Monrad ; nephew Benjamin Monrad; his loyal pup Maya; and many more dear relatives and friends.
