Obituary of Catherine Ott
Catherine “Kay” Ott was born in Hackettstown on May 24, 1918 to William R. and Bertha (Capwell) Blackwood. After graduating from Hackettstown High School in 1937, Catherine attended Presbyterian Hospital in Newark and graduated in 1940 as a Registered Nurse. She worked in many hospitals and did a lot of private duty in both hospitals and home cases over the years. Her last job before retirement was Green Hill in West Orange. Cahterine lived in Hackettstown and in the Caldwell area from 1955 until 1994 and finally at The Oaks at Denville until her death on April 2, 2018.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Charles G. Ott, her daughter-in-law, Maggie Ott, her brother, Stanley Blackwood, and her great-granddaughter, Catherine Cullen.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet and son-in-law Jim Philhower of Rockaway, her son, Michael Ott of Hebron, MD; her grandson, Scott Philhower; her granddaughters, Christine Ott, Karen (Ott) Arena, and Jennifer Graga and her husband Rich; her great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Kayla Philhower, Matthew Cullen, Eric Arena, Richie Graga, Michael Graga and his wife Amanda, Megan English and her husband Tim, and Aaron and Emma Graga; and her great-granddaughter Maggie English.
Arrangements are private and under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services in Denville. Memorial Donations can be made to the charity of your choice by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
