Obituary of Dolores H. Proctor

Dolores H. Proctor (nee Maurer) passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2018. She shared 92 years of love with her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Denville Community Church, 190 Diamond Spring Road, Denville. Final interment will be at the Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the future. Donations in her memory may be made to the good work of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
Dolores was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and after her marriage to Edmund Proctor, the couple raised their family of seven children there. On top of being a mother of seven and a wonderful homemaker, she worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Genevieve’s R.C. Church in Elizabeth and a member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, seeing shows and traveling. She had a deep love for animals and always had pets in the house, most recently her beloved cat Clyde.
Predeceased by her husband Edmund; she is survived by her children Patricia Szurley (Raymond); Dr. Edmund R. Proctor, Jr. (Tita), Monica Giordano (Stefano), Nancy Gerhardt (John), Douglas Proctor (Jenny), Marilyn Kurtz and Dennis Proctor (Jacqueline); eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; dear “sister” Marilyn Thorne; her cuddly feline Clyde and many more dear relatives and friends.
