Obituary of Mary M. Reilly
Mary M. Reilly, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her home at Chelsea of Montville. She shared 97 years of love and faith with all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Denville. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. A celebration of her life will be on Tuesday, March 13th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave. Denville. Please share your memories here.
Mary was born in the Bronx to the late Andrew and Margaret Burns. She graduated from Hunter College in New York and later married Frank Reilly on April 3, 1948. Soon after, they moved to Denville to begin a new chapter of life. She had six children and upon Frank’s passing on February 19, 1965, she went on to raise them by herself. She was a devout Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunt. She was also a very devout Catholic which helped sustain her through lifes ups and downs. In her later years, she volunteered at the St. Clare’s Bargain Barn and she was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Predeceased by her husband Frank (1965);her daughter Patricia Kelly (2011) and her siblings Rita, Margie, Alice, Joan and Buddy; she leaves beautiful memories to her sons James (Margaret), Kevin, Michael (Laura), Peter (Patricia) and Paul; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
