Obituary of Jennie Olenowski

Please share a memory of Jennie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jennie Olenowski passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at The Oaks in Denville. She was 92 years young.

Born in Rockaway to the late John and Mary Wolosin, she was one of eight children. After World War II, she met and married her soulmate, Matthew Olenowski. Together they relocated to Denville and started their family. A devout Catholic, and member of St. Mary’s RC Church, Jennie was a daily communicant who led the Rosary every day after Mass for over 50 years. She always sacrificed for her family, being the most attentive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister that she could possibly be; always attending plays, rehearsals, games, and practices for all of her children and grandchildren. She will forever be treasured in our hearts and her legacy of devotion and unconditional love will live on for eternity.

Predeceased by her caring siblings, Helen, Mary, Steve, Andrew, Carl, John, and Ann, Jennie is now reunited with her beloved husband, Matthew Olenowski; she leaves only joyful memories to her loving children, Matthew Olenowski of Denville, Linda James of Wharton, Joseph Olenowski of Arizona, Father Mark Olenowski of Montville, John (the late Kathleen) Olenowski of Denville, Mary Olenowski of Basking Ridge, Luke (the late Cheryl) Olenowski of Denville, and Michael Olenowski of Denville; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Jay, Michael James, Cynthia, Megan, Caitlin, Ashley, Luke, Jr., Emily, Matthew, Timothy, and Benjamin; her adored great-grandchildren, Zach, Jacob, Brianna, Zoey, Jennie, Lily, Landon, and Logan; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 10th at 10 am at St. Mary’s RC Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville. Burial will follow at Denville Cemetery, Denville. Public Visitation will take place on Friday, March 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
