Obituary of Shirley A Fitzgerald
Shirley fitzgerald passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 18 th at Morris View nursing home in Morris Plains nj. She would have celebrated her 91st birthday on March 1st.
Shirley was born in Paterson NJ to Jim and Edna Mae Carey. She was raised in Paterson where she met and married George Fitzgerald and had three sons. She worked at the Passaic County Probation Office for many years until she retired in 2001.
In 2014 she moved to St. Francis Residential Center where she spent two years being lovingly cared for by the staff there. When her health began to decline she moved to Morris View Health Care in Morris Plains.
Shirley is predeceased by her son James and an infant son Kevin and her parents James and Edna Mae Carey.
She is survived by her son Stephen and wife Robin who live in Denville and her daughter-in-law Vicky Fitzgerald who lives in Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Christine (Conrad), Shaun (Laura) Kelly (Thomas) Bobby, Conor, Kevin, Marisol (Alberto) and Bridget. Shirley has 11 great grandchildren Rocco, Ryder, Reece, Lily, Ella, Paige, Noah, Olivia,Arianhna, Gabriella and Alberto and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Any donations made to St. Francis Residential Center in her name would be appreciated.
