Speaking for my husband Wendell and myself, we wish to express our sincere sympathy to Ron's family and Trudy.
Ron was part of the Compton Press employee family for many years and was always, not just a good and loyal worker but a kind and dedicated man. He always seemed to find time for his friends, family and church no matter what difficulties he faced.

There is so much to say about this man that I am not even sure where to start. This man was my god father but so much more. Uncle Ronnie always had a smile on his face. He was a kind, smart, funny, loving, giving and of course handsome man. He always listened to me and gave me good advice. I always felt a part of his family. To this day his family means the world to me. He gave awesome hugs which came with lots of kisses too. I feel so lucky to call this man my god father, my uncle and my friend. I will remember his and my Aunt Maureen's visits to Maine; When we played pinochle and I would get in trouble for crazy bidding; eating stew (kind of); our trips to New Jersey for our reunions; and playing with the watermelon in the pool and clogging the filter with grease. I feel very blessed to have had Uncle Ronnie in my life and he will be greatly missed. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers! We love you all so much. Love Watermelon

Ron was the most kind, gentlest, sincerest and genuinely good man I knew. I always looked forward to our lunches at Applebees since he retired from FLM. He was always engaged in whatever we discussed. I know how much he loved his family, wife, church, friends and the last few years Trudy. Words can not begin to explain the sadness i felt when i learned of his passing. We talked on New Years Day and we were planning on one of our lunches later in January after some additional treatments he needed to go through. I always asked him to keep me informed because i knew if his time was limited....i just wanted to make him laugh one more time. RIP my friend and godspeed to heaven for a wonderful soul.

There are no words to express my feelings. Ron was the brother I never had. He would carry notes between Jim and I and never read them. I am going to miss our phone calls and catching up with the kids and grandkids. Our days of double dating were so much fun. The years have gone by so quickly. You and Jim and tom will have so much fun together. I send all my love and kisses.7Dpa8

We loved your dad. He was there when when we announced our engagement, he was there (and your mom too) when Alex was born in Morristown Memorial. He was was there at so many important moments of our lives - just like a parent. I thought of him like a dad especially when I lost my own 7 1/2 years ago. He was a mentor and a close friend to Jim both having a printing background. What a beautiful person, we are better people for having him in our lives. I'm sure he is enjoying a nice meatloaf dinner up in heaven. Love to all of you.. Tara and Jim Baumann

Ron, Laurie, Bill, Colleen, Kevin and families!
Words are not enough to highlight all that your Dad has accomplished. He was an inspiration to me and so many from those earliest days at Gardner Field through the trips to Island Beach, reunions at the pool, Christmas at the Gallahers, your Moms illness. If God needed an example of a Christian to hold up today that picture would certainly be of Ron Lockwood. May your pain and tears be comforted by the memories of so many better days. Will forever remember with fondness that smile, those welcoming hand shakes (always 2 hands) and the quiet knowing nod of his head when he agreed with something. My life has been better simply because I knew him. May he be enjoying a moment with your Mom, a laugh with the Gallagers and Joe Mac, and great baseball talk with his many friends from Denville LL and Morristown of his youth. Hugs to you all.

Dear Lockwood, Vittorio and Cullim Families,
Words cannot express the impact that your Father has had on my life. As you know we built a special friendship over the last 18 years. He has helped me be a better person on all levels just by listening and watching the way he lived his life. During the tough times he always remained positive and upbeat. We would meet for breakfast weekly, during those times our conversations covered many topics (most of which we disagreed on). The one topic that we discussed on a regular basis and agreed on was Family. It was obvious to me that he cherished his family with all of his heart.
He was a kind, generous, warm person to name a few.
I will miss him dearly. I will miss our weekly breakfasts. I will miss our conversations on my ride home from work.
The world is a better place because he was in it.
May his memory be a blessing to all of you.
Rest in Peace my sweet friend.
