Obituary of Blossom E. Salvatore

Please share a memory of Blossom to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Blossom Salvatore passed away on Wednesday, January 10th following a brief illness.  She shared 88 years of love and kindness. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  Interment to follow at the Denville Cemetery.  Friends and relatives may visit beginning at 9 o’clock that morning.  Although flowers are lovely, donations in her memory may be made to the good work of ASPCA by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Blossom was born in Brooklyn to the late John and Violet Jehle.  When she was a young child, her father passed leaving her Mom to raise her.  She was blessed with a devoted and loving step Dad Alfred Keating a few years later.  When Blossom was older she and her family summered in Boonton.  It was here that she met Dominick Salvatore.  The couple married and settled in New Jersey.  They started their family soon after and always considered Denville their home.  Together they raised four children and ran a successful cleaning business.  As the kids grew, Blossom worked as a teachers’ aide at Morris Knolls High School.  She was proud to spend many years there and loved each day. When she wasn’t at work, she donated much of her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels.  She was selfless and knew the importance of helping others in this world.

She enjoyed dancing and reading and her famous word finds.  She loved to camp and enjoy the great outdoors.  She was an excellent cook of delicious Italian food and a skilled baker.  Above everything, she loved her family.  The sun rose and set on her grandchildren and she loved having them near.  She truly was a devoted and loving Wife, Mom and Nana. She was also the dearest companion and friend to her loyal canine Molly.

Predeceased by her husband Dominick of 56 years; she leaves beautiful memories to her children Donna, Alfred, Susan (Jack Cordeiro), and Nicholas; her adored grandson Dylan Stalter, beautiful granddaughters Tina and Ava Salvatore, her dear angel Laura Wilkerson who loved and cared for her like a Mother and many more relatives and friends.
