Obituary of Ginette Tansey

Ginette Tansey passed away peacefully at Morristown Memorial Hospital.  She leaves behind a legacy of much joy and strength of 94 years to many dear relatives and friends. 

Ginette was born in Paris, France to Gino and Louise (Mouchet) Tommasini and eventually came to the states where she resided in Livingston, NJ.  She was always proud to tell her story of how she came from Paris to America.  She quickly learned English and went to business school to learn American shorthand. She was an amazing and determined woman who knew how to work hard for everything that she had.  Ginette was an outstanding business woman who worked her way up; eventually becoming the Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board at L’Oreal Cosmetics. She loved to travel and has been to every continent, was a patron of the New Jersey Ballet and enjoyed ballroom dancing herself.  She had a zest for living that always shined through her and she will be greatly missed.  

Ginette was predeceased by her husband Frank V. Tansey Jr. and her daughter Francette Hames.  She leaves happy memories to her beloved sons Frank V. Tansey III (Charlotte) and Dr. Michael Tansey (Loretta); adored grandchildren Jordana Young (Wayne Jr.), Gina-Louise Santamaria (Anthony), Jennifer O’Brien (Sean), Michael Tansey and Matthew Tansey; cherished great-grandson Patrick Rogan and many other caring relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6 from 6-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 7 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville followed by interment at Gate of Heaven  Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover.  In her memory donations are being made to the good works of Atlantic Hospice at Morristown Memorial Hospital by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.  Please share a memory or leave a condolence for the family.
