Obituary of Angela M Catanzaro

Please share a memory of Angela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Angela M. Catanzaro passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her home in Budd Lake after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was 77 years young. She will be greatly missed yet her legacy will live on forever through the hearts of her family and friends.

Known to all who loved her as "Angie", she was born in Orange, NJ to Mildred Hatton and Dominick Varrallo. She grew up surrounded by a large extended family, including her predeceased sister and best friend Cecelia (Ceil) Roselli, and many cousins. Angie proudly worked for Prudential Insurance immediately after graduating high school and retired early at age 55. She loved working at "Pru", as she made many lifelong friendships, and truly enjoyed her work. After retiring, Angie moved "down the shore" and lived in Toms River to be near her sister. She started her own silk floral arrangement and craft business, was a talented floral designer at AC Moore, and later worked for Remington Insurance upon moving back to north Jersey. Her greatest accomplishment by far was being an exceptional mother, grandmother and friend.  She was accepting of everyone, and always ready to give someone her beautiful smile while sparkling her big brown eyes.

Angie gave to many different charities throughout her life. She had a big heart and was always thinking of others, including her local food pantry as a regular donor. Angie loved dancing, singing, doing cross-stitch, and spending time with her family. In her early twenties, she danced for the USO, performed with a group from Prudential, and loved to go ballroom dancing in New York City. Even in her last weeks, she was dancing, singing and spreading her love for life to those around her.

She leaves happy memories and lessons of strength and faith to her daughters Laurie Reuther of Mt. Arlington, NJ and Vickie Vo of Reston, VA; grandchildren Robyn and Christopher Reuther and Bella Vo; niece Regina Roselli and many other close relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10am at Our Lady of the Lake, Mt. Arlington. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Orange.

Flowers are welcome, as are donations in Angie's name made to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, www.cchfoundation.net.

Please share a special memory and condolence with her family.
