Dear Marlene
You were our friend and neighbor for 20 years and we miss you. You had a special connection with animals, especially dogs. We watched you foster and place in loving homes so many dogs from Eleventh Hour Rescue. The dogs knew you had a connection with them. Thank you for being so good to our dogs. You would always greet them with a treat. Today, when we take our dogs down the street for a walk, they stop and look over at your side door hoping to see you open it and come to greet them.
We grieve losing you, but we know that your are reunited with your partner, Debbie and your beloved dog Shawna. Rest in peace dear friend, you are now home at last.
Deidra, Don, Buddy, Sally and Forest

I was fortunate enough to adopt one of the many wonderful dogs that Marlene fostered. I have had Shelby for more than 10 years and considered Marlene a good friend for just as long. She was always there to lend a helping hand and was truly a generous and loving individual. Shelby and I will miss her very much, especially her early morning phone calls. I always knew who was on the phone and I am having trouble getting used to not hearing from her or hearing about her wrens and all the other things and people she cared so much about. She loved her family very much.
With sincere sympathy,
Ellen Plavier, Russ, Corey and Paige

I will always remember how Marlene was kind and loving to all members of her brothers family. I've known her for over 45 years. She was always a kind and gentle soul, as was her mother Carrie (Elsie) Dodd and Marlene's partner, Debbie Stinson. All 3 of them were especially kind and loving toward my children Kimberly and Patrick. All 3 of them are in heaven now. Thank you my sister, Donna for letting me spend Marlene's last Thanksgiving, 2016, I will cherish that memory, forever.

Marlene was an amazing person with a huge heart. She was a wonderful volunteer with 11th Hour Rescue, a neighbor and friend. She was a character...fiercely independent, strong willed, kind and giving. I miss her already and we have all lost a wonderful human being

You were the first person I met when I started with EHR. We became friends immediately and you will always be my friend. The dogs are lucky to have someone as special as you. God needed a rescuer in heaven and called on you. You will be missed by all. Love you my friend.
