Hi Pop Pop,
I went on my first call tonight. Man was that a rush of adrenaline. Thank you for watching over me as I responded to the call and help save what I could. I miss you everyday Pop Pop. I love you. Give Grandma a hug and kiss for me.

Pop Pop,
It has only been a few days and I already miss you dearly. The other night I was going through my voice mails and I found three that were from you. I would call you and talk to you about Bo, how much I would love riding, and how we dreamed about taking you on a trail ride. I miss our conversations and the way you would always say that you loved me. I remember one time you came up to New Jersey and you, my father and I were sitting on the back porch looking up at the stars. You both would talk about the customers that you had and the ones that my father had. You would ask if my father still had the same customers that you had and my father would always answer with a story. I hope that I could grow up and be like you, loving everything that you did in life. You loved helping people. In memory of you, I joined the Cedar Knolls Fire Company today. I hope that you will watch over me as I become the 3rd generation of "Poulters" becoming a firefighter. I want to be just like you and help people.
The Firefighter Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,
wherever flames may rage,
give me strength to save a life,
whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
before it is too late,
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert,
and hear the weakest shout,
quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling,
to give the best in me,
to guard my friend and neighbor,
and protect his property.
And if according to Your will
I must answer death's call,
bless with your protecting hand,
my family one and all.
I miss you dearly Pop Pop
Give love to Grandma for me
I love you <3

When I am gone, release me, let me go,
I have so many things to see and do,
You musn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many good years.
I gave you my love,
You can only guess how much you gave back to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve for me a while if you must,
Then let you grief be comforted by trust.
It's truly only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on,
So if you need me call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me I'll be near,
And if you listen with your heart you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a welcome home.

To the Poulter family I want to send my deepest condolences. Your Dad was an amazing man, and I am glad that I got to know him and your Mom before they moved to Florida. They are together again, the way it was meant to be. Always, Gail Fauerbach

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Dan's family at this time. Dan, Marie and their children were our wonderful neighbors for almost 25 years. Dan was always willing to help with whatever was needed. He was a Trustee for the Rainbow Lakes Community Club, and he loved the Rainbow Lakes Volunteer Fire Company. We moved into our house on a Tuesday and Dan stopped in to say hello. Three days later was the monthly Fire Company meeting, and Dan, in his persuasive manner, told my husband, Chez, that he was going to bring him to the meeting because he should join. Chez and Dan worked on many Dinner Dance committees together. They are together in heaven now. It's best to let Dan drive the truck...he was the professional!! He will be dearly missed by our family.
