Obituary of Melvin George Berry
Melvin “Skip” Berry passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, PA. He was 93 years young.
Born and raised in Rockaway, that is where he met and married the love of his life, Lois Steinert, who passed away in 1994. Together they relocated to Denville to raise their beautiful family. For over 40 years, he made a very successful career for himself working at Moretrench in Rockaway. Once he retired, he moved to Pennsylvania and continued to work by volunteering. He was very active with My Brother’s Keeper. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 and in his youth, was an avid Horseman. He also collected milk glass and other antique glass. Skip was an increbile husband, father, and friend that truly enjoyed helping people. He will be sorely missed.
Left to keep his legacy alive are his beloved children, George Berry and his wife Mary of Denville and Janet Berry and her spouse Sharon Cunningham of Rochester, MN.
Public Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 21st from 7 – 9 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Burial will be private. Please leave a condolence for his family. Memorial Donations can be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
