I saw Pat Kelley yesterday and she shared the news of Bob's passing. I wish I had known before the services. I would have loved to give you all a big hug. Lots of good memories from the old days in the neighborhood. My prayers are with you.
Love,
Tara

In my 75 years I have truly never met anyone as giving of ones self as Bob. His dedication to youth and Scouting is unsurpassed. My sons and I still talk about the trips to DC, canoeing the Delaware, and our almost monthly camping trips. My family was extremely fortunate to have known Bob.He was a great friend and neighbor, but most of all "he made a difference"

I was in Pack 99 at the Union Hill Presbyterian Church and was a Webelo on a camping trip at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco sometime in the early 80's when Mr. Birrell was driving the Troop 99 bus down a mountain toward Flatbrook when he saved a bus full of other campers who were in the bus behind us and had lost their breaks. He stopped their bus with our bus and if he hadn't, the other bus would have crashed into trees at the bottom of the hill where the road came to a "T." I was in the back seat of the bus. It is my fondest memory of him.
Prayers and best wishes to his family and friends as he will live on in your memories.

Bob I knew from Indian Lake,Denville back in the 50's. stamp collecting was some thing
he got me interested in. He was a good friend you could count on. To Jean who I met later on I send my sincerest sympathy. Also to all members of family I also express my condolences.. With memories as I age Bob will surely be thought of as a great human being and some one you could rely on. Bob I hope we meet up later.God bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My deepest sympathy to Jean as well as Kate, Robert and Annie.
My memories of Bob on our reunion trips was one of good cheer and steady congeniality. He knew what the next step was, be it putting out the fire (and stirring the ashes) or where the driver would be taking us next. We had a great time when he and Jean hosted the whole gang at their home in NJ.
Our thoughts are with you.
