Obituary of Helen Josephine Zazenski

Helen Josephine Zazenski passed away at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her daughters on February 14, 2017, at the age of 91.
Born in Newark she had lived in Bloomfield for 43 years, before moving to Rockaway, NJ 18 years ago.
Helen and her husband were self-employed for 11 years, owning and operating a luncheonette and sweet shop in Bloomfield NJ. She also worked in the actuarial department for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark, NJ before retiring in 1990.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with her family and friends, reading, cooking and observing and instilling Polish traditions with her family.
During the 1950's, Helen, along with six girlfriends formed "The Socialites", a friendship club that continues to this day.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter Wojcik and Michalena Grodzki, her husband Chester Joseph Zazenski in 2014, and her brothers George and Henry Wojcik.
Helen is survived by her four daughters, Marianne Dickman and her husband Gene of Abingdon, MD, Kathleen Nassaney and her husband Al of Rockaway, NJ, Michalene Donegan and her husband Gerry of Atlanta, GA, and Margaret Bedell and her husband Peter of Denville, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelsey & Ryan Dickman, Melissa & Christina Nassaney and Meghan Bedell, along with many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 on Friday February 17th from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
Funeral services will begin at 9am on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Norman Dean Funeral Home, and then follow in procession to St. Cecilia's Church in Rockaway, NJ for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
Donations can be made in her memory to Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Fund c/o the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center at www.inmemoryof-memorial.com.
