Obituary of Joseph Ralph Tulimiero
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Ralph Tulimiero died peacefully at home with his loving wife at the age of 93 in Denville, NJ on June 13, 2016.
Born to Vito and Camila (Ippolito) Tulimiero who were immigrants from Naples, Italy, in Newark, NJ on March 15, 1923, he was the second youngest of nine siblings. He raised his family in Livingston, and had lived in Florham Park before moving to Denville, NJ six years ago.
As a loving father, committed husband and faith-filled man, his generous, magnetic personality will be missed. Joe was committed to family. One of his greatest pleasures was to share a meal with family, his extended large extended family and friends. He had a humility and kind nature and valued learning life lessons wherever the occasion arrived. As a youth he was an avid horseback rider and as an adult he was an accomplished golfer.
As a young man, Joe was drafted into the U.S. Navy and was commissioned to serve on the Escort Destroyer during WWII, where he proudly served along with the other committed soldiers in his troop.
Joe was the joint proprietor, along with Prisco Villani, of Temco Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Company of Newark for 30 years.
He was predeceased by his parents and 7 of his siblings, and his son Joseph Ralph Tulimiero Jr.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Virginia Margaret (Messina) Tulimiero of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by his loving children Vito Tulimiero of South Andover, MA, and Audrey Tulimiero Welch of Perth, Western Australia. His grandchildren Christopher Joseph Tulimiero, Michael Thomas Tulimiero, Raymond Welch and Theresa Welch as well as his sister Mille Codomo also survive him.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00am on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 10am Liturgy of Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
Donations can be made in his memory to: The Appreciation Fund at Franciscan Oaks by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.com.
