Obituary of Jeffrey Scott Mathesius

Jeffrey Scott Mathesius, II passed away on February 23, 2016 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.
Scott was born in Morristown and had lived in Sparta since 1992. He graduated from Sparta High School in 2002 and went on to County College of Morris receiving an AS degree in Landscape Design in 2004. He later received a BS in Environmental Planning & Design from Cook College at Rutgers University in 2007.
His real passion was physical fitness, and he became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2011. His constant endeavor to maintain and improve his own health reached far beyond himself. At his passing, Scott donated the gift of life through organ donation and has given a fresh start to four recipients.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Thomas and Teresa Emerick and his paternal grandmother Jeanne Mathesius.
Scott is survived by his mother and stepfather Maureen and Ed Nelson and his brother Christopher Nelson, all of Sparta, as well as his father Jeff Mathesius of Florida and his aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
Family and friends may share a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial service at the Chapel at Pope John High School in Sparta. Contact the family for details.
