Obituary of Lillian Emelia Haberer
Please share a memory of Lillian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lillian E. Haberer of Hopatcong, NJ, formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Merry Heart Health Care Center on April 4, 2016. She was 96 years old; only three days shy of her 97 birthday.
Lillian was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put family first. She had a loving heart and was always willing to help anyone who reached out in need. She was a woman of strong faith; showing this through her devotion to many Lutheran churches. For many years, she was an avid crocheter. She made countless afghans, hot pads and pot holders in beautiful, bright colors. Each one of the children and grandchildren has one of her handmade treasures.
She is predeceased by her husband Alfred N. Haberer (1979) whom she married in Buffalo in 1947. Those she leaves behind to keep her memory alive are her beloved children, Suzann Zoltner (Thomas), Laura Breton (the late Gregory) and Alice Garbarini; adored grandchildren, Jeffrey Crume (Marlo), Jennifer Hade (Jason), Thomas “TJ” Zoltner (Kate Zander), Jillian Zoltner (Jonathan Wolf), Andrea Johnson (Patrick), Laura Miller (Matthew) and Michael Garbarini (Sophia); precious great-grandchildren Brielle and Austin Crume, Luke and Caroline Hade, Isaac and Eliza Miller, and Aurora Lillian Garbarini; and many other extended family and friends.
Funeral services are going to be private. Please share a condolence with her family. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 131 Mountain Way, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.
