Dear Luconi family today I sadly learned that you are mourning the loss of your beloved "Ant" . Mrs. Luconi, reading your tribute to your dear son allowed us to get a glimpse into the type of person "Ant" was. Caring, loving, mischievous and above all a sweet soul. I can only imagine the pain the family must be experiencing now and no words said or written can truly ease that pain, May you take some comfort in knowing that the God of all comfort is aware of your pain and he promises to remedy it by removing death and the pain caused by losing a dear loved one.(Isaiah 25:8). God also assures us that he will comfort and sustain us during our times of need or trial (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) I am truly sorry for your loss.

My most sincere condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. The drug epidemic is destroying our lives and our families. We ask the question; will this suffering ever end? God gives us hope that he will carry us through and give us the strength to persevere. May the words found in the bible at Revelation 21:3-4 bring you peace, hope and comfort. The lost of a loved one is heart breaking but God cares for us and he feels our pain. He will never leave you alone. The bible assures us of many wonderful promises that you can draw strength from. The work that you are doing and the awareness you are bringing to this disease will help many. Visit jw.org to find faith strengthening messages and articles that will help you and your family find a measure of comfort. I wish you and your family all the best.

I would like to start this by giving my sincerest condolences to your family!
I am from south Africa and just came across a story posted on a blog, it happened to be that of Tara Barnard, the story and all those before and after hers on the blog touched me deeply. We here in Africa understand the issues with facing drug abuse and addiction very well!
I really hope that your elected officials will come up with a plan to help families like yours in America!
May God bless you and be with you always.

so very sorry for your lose, My son is recovery 10 months yesterday. I thank God every day for his continued soberiety and also pray every night he will continue to keep it. This is an awful epidemic and it is destroying our children by the 100's weekly. The pain I have suffered at the hands of heroine can not be measured by any means to the pain you have now but I hope you do know your tribute to you son and your honesty are words written from a mother to many other mothers who are with you. I have done, said and experienced things beyond my wildest imagination. I will do anything to save my son from he grips of this demon drug, but i also know all too often it wins. I have so many obiturarys in my mind from too many of beautiful children taken from us. I can only applaud Mom's lke you who are doing their best to honor thier children and at the same time asking why, why, why do we not take the vail off this horrible disease and apply our efforts to beating it back to the dark hole it belongs in. My heart aches for your lose and I will always keep you and your beautifully tribute to your son in my heart and thoughts.

May god be with you all... This is a fear so many have right now myself included. My son just overdosed this past Saturday he is alive today but still getting every door slammed in his face as far as getting help. Raise your voice be his voice! Email your senators, join everything you can to meet new people involved, go to meetings in your county, join the rally in DC this year. This epidemic is stealing our loved ones we need to fight back. I feel your pain and am praying for you. We lost our daughter in law last September and spend everyday fearing we will lose our son. The emergency room dr actually said to our boy on Saturday after he was saved with Narcan, you are pretty stupid! why did you do this? Well Dr he is in a court ordered facility that is crawling with drugs and herion and the county officials know this how is a 12 year drug addict with dual diagnosis really expected to abstain use???? Dear God pray for us all

My sincere condolences to all family members. Prayers and thoughts are with you. I feel your agonizing pain.
On March 12, 2016,I had lost my sister, Lindsay Russell. Lindsay was 32. She died in her home alone. We figured she had been there for a least 3 days before she was found. She was a paralegal with a bachelors degree and was working on her masters to become a lawyer. She also served in the armed forces for country for 4 years. Lindsay was, as your son also was, a beautiful soul. She loved life, a heart of gold and was one of the sincerely kindest ppl I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This disease is immune to no one. It knows no social class and doesn't no color. Too many ppl are losing their lives before there time. We live in Jefferson County NY. Our town of Watertown is in the top 5 worst places to live in NY state due to the heroin epidemic. We have very little help in our area with drug programs. I hope and pray that that sooner than later more awareness, programs and government funds will soon be offered across the US. My heart aches with sadness and emptiness daily. But, my pain is nothing compared to my mother and fathers pain of losing a child. We all need to fight for educated awareness of the this evil "disease" that is taking over our country.

I myself as a single parent am living this life of addiction. My baby who is now 21 next month has been struggling with addiction. Everyone tells you this and that but I don't even know anymore. I pray to God that I don't lose him. Right now my fear is your reality and I am so so sorry. Like I said, I don't know you but I know God wanted me to see this. Im so so very sorry for your loss , I also want to thank you for sharing and being open about this, my heart is very heavy for you and your family . This was written so beautifully , I have. 20 yr old son who is "living this way" he also has a 2 month old daughter , your stories remind me so much of him , the funny question about the cereal , the shaving cream with the girls and the love he had for you , no matter what he was doing , he stopped to take the time to call you no matter if he was alone or there where 100 ppl around to share that moment with you and was never embarrassed to show his love for you :) reading this tells me that you are a wonderful person who raised her children with unconditional love and understanding with a very special bond and relationship , that you remembered the real person behind all of this , to many ppl tend to forget that there is still a person there . Reading this shows me what amazing parents you , and what a wonderful man you brought up , I'm so sorry this has taken another beautiful soul , your son , you and your family are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers

Dear Mr. and Mrs.Luconi,
I wonder if you remember me at all, but I grew up playing alongside Anthony with you, Mr.Luconi, as my soccer coach with the Rockaway Rowdies. How far things have come and how unfortunate that we regain contact under these circumstances. As unfortunate as the circumstances are however, the loss of your son is a stark reminder of how fragile and precious life is. I didn't really keep in contact with Anthony after we stopped playing soccer together. We shared a few mutual friends, but in reality our paths rarely crossed; so rarely that if I walked past him on the street I wouldn't recognize him much like I don't from the pictures on his memorial. What I do remember however, is a young kid running down the soccer field scoring goals prolifically.
It is an absolute shame that another soul is lost to the greed and hunger of heroine. I lost a cousin to the same disease several years ago. A recovering addict who just couldn't escape the grasp of the illness and eventually succumb to it's hold, he left behind two beautiful daughters. If there is one thing that event taught me, it was that this illness knows no boundaries, no colors, no social classes. It is a threat to all of us. If you have family or friends, the likelihood of your life being somehow impacted by this disease is high, and it is growing. What was once a stereotypical "black" social issue is slowly engulfing the more upper strata middle-class neighborhoods in states like New Jersey.
And while this is disappointing it provides us an opportunity to unite under the same banner and gather together to reach out to legislators to prevent this from spreading further. What we need in this country is not the incarceration of young men like your son, but education with the reality that this is a disease that few will ever experience but all will be affected by.
I send my deepest condolences to you both as well as your family. I hope God, whatever you conceive him to be, brings you peace and strength to continue forward with this difficult path. May he illuminate and guide you always.
With much respect and memory of your son,
Rafael D. Cervilla
