Obituary of Helen Cooper

Helen Cooper, passed away on Friday, March 11th. She was 80 years old. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10 am at St. Cecilia’s Church, Church St., Rockaway. Interment to follow at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, March 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Born in Brooklyn to the late Michael and Rose Higgins, Helen was one of five children. After her schooling in Greenpoint, she met and later married Raymond Cooper. The couple settled in Rockaway, NJ where they raised their family. Helen was an amazing Wife, Mother and Grandma. Recently, she welcomed her first great grandchild into the world. The sun rose and set on her family, and nothing made her prouder. A few years ago, she moved to Fox Hills where she enjoyed activities and new friendships. Predeceased by her dear husband Raymond (2003); her beloved daughter Jacqueline (2012) and her sister Rosemary Sharkey; she leaves beautiful memories to her children Colleen Reardon (Joseph) and Ray Cooper (Maria); her adoring grandchildren Raymond (Dara), Patrick (Cathey), Brendan, Katie Rose, Joseph and great granddaughter Leah; her siblings David Higgins, Ann Daley and Patricia Gregory and many more loving relatives and dear friends.
